Programs

At the Syrian Agency for Rescue (SAR), we believe in moving beyond immediate aid to create lasting, positive change in the lives of those affected by conflict and displacement. Our work is focused on three core pillars that address the most critical needs of individuals and communities, empowering them to recover, rebuild, and thrive.

Explore our programs below to learn how we are working to turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s opportunities.

Protection Program

We respond to the humanitarian crisis by strengthening the protective environment for those affected by conflict, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being.

Key Activities:

  • Multi-functional Safe Spaces (MFSS) providing safety and community activities.
  • Awareness sessions on critical issues (legal rights, early marriage, etc.).
  • Specialized services for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) survivors.
  • Case management and individual protection assistance.
  • Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Child Protection (CP) activities.

  • HAIAT Project: Supports vulnerable women, including widows, with income-generating projects and sewing machine distributions to start home-based businesses.
  • Skills training in cooperation with Turkish ministries.

  • 2,453 individuals secured job opportunities.
  • 15 micro-businesses started.

Education Program: Towards a Better Education

We believe education is a human right and a key to a better future. We work to increase access to quality, safe education for vulnerable children.

Key Projects:

  • Back to School Campaigns: Encouraging enrollment through community engagement and interactive activities.
  • “We Want to Learn” Project: Annual distribution of school bags, stationery, and educational materials to reduce family burdens.
  • “Warm Us” Project: Providing winter clothes and classroom heating to keep students in school during winter.
  • Social cohesion activities between Syrian and Turkish students.

Impact:

  • Over 49,171 beneficiaries reached through Back to School activities.
  • 48,368 children kept warm in winter.
  • 36,722 students supported with educational kits.

Together, these pillars form a continuous path from crisis to resilience.
